What is Depth Counselling?I practice what I call depth counselling. This is a mode of therapy that addresses peoples’ problems by examining the roots of a problem, rather than just the symptoms. Over the years, as a Toronto therapist, I have found that when I help people understand the origins of their problems at a deep level, their change is more solid and lasting than just looking at the surface. I also believe that trying to ‘rise above’ a problem, a method that many people employ, does not work either.
Any difficulties we have need to be directly confronted and understood at a level that gets to the root of what ails us. I have also seen that people have the courage and resources to work effectively in this manner and make very positive changes in their lives. |
Counselling & Psychotherapy in Toronto--Michael Greene, MAI am a Toronto therapist and counsellor who works with individuals and couples in Toronto, Ontario. I have been in private practice since 1990. I also work as an employee assistance counsellor. In addition I am involved in public education about mental health in the form of presentations and writing. I am a clinical member of the Ontario Society of Psychotherapists and was a supervisor with the Canadian Centre for Bereavement Education and Grief Counselling. Mission Statement The goal of my work as a counsellor and therapist is to provide people with a set of skills that will enable them to make positive changes in their lives. I accomplish this through a multifaceted therapeutic approach that takes into account the particular needs of each person whom I help. I also believe that the most positive environment for counselling is one in which there is an equal and respectful relationship. My counselling and therapy resources include:
